Formerly Incarcerated -includes those who have been sentenced and served time in a carceral institution (prison, immigration detention centers, local jails, juvenile detention centers, etc.) and are now released. System Involved - includes those who have been involved in the carceral system but have not been sentenced to a carceral institution or who have been sent for short periods of time. Feather Falls is a quick drive from campus, but once you’re there, you’ll feel worlds away!Trip DetailsParticipants should be prepared to hike roughly 8 miles round trip. Food and appropriate clothing and footwear will need to be provided by each participant. A gear list will be provided after registering. - Dec 7–8WFR RecertificationThis course is taught by Mountain Training Network.DescriptionAre your wilderness medicine protocols on the tip of your tongue or in the bottom of your pack? This 3-day scenario-based course is designed as review and practice of evacuation and decision making guidelines. It also provides current updates in the wilderness medicine field.There will be a written examination at the beginning of this course.Learning takes place both in the classroom and in outdoor settings regardless of weather conditions. Come prepared for wet, muddy, cold or hot environments.Trip CostCost includes: transportation and leadership.CSU, Chico Students - $350General - $350Scholarships available for CSU, Chico students here. You must be 16 years old to attend this course.Certification: Participants are required to pass both written and practical examinations to obtain WFR and CPR recertification. Successful course completion earns you an Adult & Child CPR certification and a Wilderness First Responder certification. WEMTs will earn a Wilderness EMT certification. All certifications are current for two years.Recertification: This course may be used to recertify Wilderness Advanced First Aid, Wilderness First Responder and Wilderness EMT (wilderness portion only) certifications. You must possess a current WFR certification of at least 70 hours to recertify through a WFR Recertification course.
