- Jan 20 – Mar 14The Hearne Collection: Source of LightDiscover the work of 23 iconic African American artists from the private collection of Archie and Garbo Hearne. A Chico State alum, Archie (Biology '73) and his wife Garbo have supported generations of artists through their gallery, Hearne Fine Art, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Founded in 1988, Hearne Fine Art is now a vital conduit for the preservation and promotion of Black art by local, regional, national, and international artists of African descent. The Jacki Headley University Art Gallery is proud to present this collection at Chico State, bringing this significant collection back to where the Hearne's artistic journey first began. Exhibition Hours: Tuesday-Saturday, 12-4pm.
