Support Resources
Tap below to access some of the most common support resources available to help students enjoy a successful experience.
Academic Advising
Chico State utilizes a dual advising system to help you graduate on time! Undergraduate students are provided support through the Academic Advising Programs office as well as a major department advisor. While Academic Advisors help answer questions regarding GE, campus policies and procedures, and general University questions, your major department advisor can help with questions regarding major coursework, internships, and course substitutions.
Sexual Assault Help
What we are taught about sexual assault and what sexual assault looks like in our communities, friendships, families, and relationships are often very different pictures. Sexual assault can take many different forms; any sexual contact or behavior that occurs without consent is considered sexual assault.
If you or a friend have experienced sexual assault, then there are many options for you on and off campus. Schedule an appointment with a confidential advocate to discuss your options, receive emotional support, and to discuss academic or housing accommodations if necessary.

Student Counseling
The WellCat Counseling Center offers short-term individual counseling appointments to regularly enrolled Chico State students. In this type of counseling, students have the opportunity to talk one-on-one with a counselor in a safe and confidential environment for a wide variety of issues.
Short-term individual counseling is a confidential and safe opportunity to talk with a therapist, one-on-one, about your concerns. Students seek individual counseling for a wide variety of issues that include, but are not limited to, depression, anxiety, stress, interpersonal conflicts, eating disorders, substance abuse, identity development, sexual assault, and grief. Individual counseling sessions last approximately 50 minutes.
